Welcome to the new preschool year at The Goslings! We are excited to be back with the children after such a long break and we will be welcoming lots of new little ones this September and are looking forward to getting to know them all.
The preschool has had a revamp over the summer holidays, with lots of painting and tidying, as well as lots of new toys and equipment arriving for the children. I can’t wait to see the faces of those returning from July and the children seeing a totally fresh preschool.
The preschool day has changed slightly; we are now starting at 9.00am and finishing at 3.00pm.
The day is split into two sessions with lots of activities to enhance the children's learning that focus on the children’s interests.
A typical day at The Goslings Preschool:
9.00 am - Welcome Time - Register - 2 Year Old Group Time
9.15 am - Child Initiated Play (Inside & Outside)
9.45 am - Wash Hands - Snack
10.15 am - Small Group Work with Key Children - Curriculum Focused Learning
11.30 am - Tidy Up Time - Rhyme Time - Story
12.00 pm - Home & Welcome Time - Register - Wash Hands - Lunch
12.45 pm - Curriculum Focused Learning

For the first term our topic will be 'All About Me':
Week 1 = Families
Week 2 = Houses and Homes
Week 3 = Emotions
Week 4 = My Special People
Week 5 = Healthy Teeth
Week 6 = Healthy Eating
Week 7 = The Body
We will be doing lots of different activities from family trees, to building houses, learning how to deal with our emotions, understanding who is important to us and why. I am hoping someone knows a dentist who could come in and do a talk with the children to encourage them to go to the dentist and help them to learn how to look after their teeth.
We will be making fruit kebabs in our healthy eating week, and we will finish the term learning about our bodies, learning about different body parts and how to take care of ourselves by doing different exercises. I even have a new parent who has offered to come and do yoga with the children!
We will be doing different fundraising events throughout the year and would love everyone to get involved and to come along and support us, so that we can continue to improve the preschool for your children and give them a lot more opportunities of different experiences.
