This half term we will be looking at space, sparking the children’s imagination and igniting curiosity about the unknown. This will help children to become creative thinkers and to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the world around us.
We will be making space shuttles, alien paper plates, star biscuits, rocket pictures and learning about all the planets! We have a solar system in preschool which the children are always asking questions about; they will learn what the planets are called, which ones are gas planets and why they have rings.
We will also be making lots of crafts, as we have Halloween and Bonfire Night! The children will be making worms in jelly, pumpkins, bonfire pictures and will even make their own guy.
We will be looking at Remembrance Day and what it means, teaching the children to honour the brave soldiers who died in the line of duty to help make the world a safer place.
At the end of term we will be holding our Nativity. More details will follow about this, but if you need to book the afternoon off work, the Nativity will be on Tuesday 12th December at 1.30pm in the Church Hall. Everyone is invited! The children will be given parts for the nativity and they will sing songs for you. Hopefully we will get some lovely parents, grandparents or carers to bake us some cakes for the afternoon!
Friday 15th December is our last day before Christmas, and we will be having a party for the children; times and details will be given closer to the time.
