This week our theme at preschool was the traditional tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
We have been talking about 'stranger danger' (how Snow White was talking to a stranger and accepting an apple) and what we should do if a stranger talks to us. The children have been acting out different emotions and feelings through the colour monster story and used facial expressions to express them.
The children have all enjoyed having fun using apples to make colourful pictures, drawing their own faces onto a paper mirror and expressing how they are feeling, decorating their own handheld mirrors and saying ‘mirror mirror on the wall’ poem. The children have also enjoyed making their own apples on a stick, dipping them in chocolate and sprinkles. Yummy!
The children have listened to the story of Snow White and have had fun with role play and singing during the story. We talked about the importance of kindness and friendship (how the dwarfs were kind to Snow White and built a lovely friendship) talking about the wonderful friendships that the children are building with one another. They have also enjoyed playing a matching numbers game in the tuff tray.
