Father's Day

The children have been learning all about how important their fathers are to them this week, the relationship between a father and child has a deep impact on a child's overall and long-term healthy development. Children whose fathers are involved in their daily care such as feeding, bathing and playing together, tend to be more confident; and, as they grow older, enjoy stronger social connections with peers.

We celebrate Father’s Day to honour our fathers or the father figure in our child’s life, for their support and guidance. It is a day to celebrate the important role that their fathers play in their life.

The children have made some lovely cards and superhero crafts for their dad’s, and they have been telling us all about what their dad’s mean to them, there are some funny examples here:

Freddy: My daddy is big, and he has a bald head, a beard and hair on his legs.

Theo: He has black hair, beard, brown eyes, brown skin and hairy legs, and hairy armpits and he is very strong.

Teddy S: Daddy goes to work and uses his car and does emails and talks to some of his work friends.

Ava: Daddy plays ball in the garden; he plays sweet shop and he skips with me.

Oliver: My daddy squashes me.

Reuben & Zachary: My daddy creeps up and squashes me, I play football with him, and he tickles me, and I fall down.

Romeo: My daddy is a superhero, he tickles me, he has hair on his arms, tummy, legs and face.

Jacob: My daddy goes to work on a train and would like Sonic to go fast.

Jeanie: My daddy picks Ruby’s poo up and he tickles me, he has hair like me, his eyes are brown and white and has a beard on his chin.

Bethan: My daddy plays ‘hide n seek’ with me.

Harlow: My daddy bakes with me and makes me happy.

Camille: My daddy goes to the playground with me and watches TV with me.

Esme: I love my daddy because I do, he is bald, he has white eyes, hairy arms and legs and is big and strong.

Amariah: My daddy goes in a teapot, and he would like sweeties for Father’s Day.

Isaac: Daddy would like books for Father’s Day, he has brown hair and a hairy chin.

Paige: I like to play and watch TV with my daddy, he has a beard and hairy legs.

Elliott: Daddy has hair, blue eyes and he has hairy arms.

Darcy: My daddy is big and strong, he has hair on his head, a little beard that goes round to his hair, and his eyes are blue.

Erin: Daddy has hairy legs, hairy arms, he has hair on his head, he has a spiky beard, not like Father Christmas. He is big and he does exercise.

Daddy is my special friend.

The two of us are buddies.

I really love the things we do.

Thank you to my daddy.
