This week we have been learning about pets.
The children have followed footprints to find the hidden pet then walked, hopped or spread their arms and flew to imitate the animal found, relating movement to each pet and developing gross motor skills.
We made rabbit biscuits, weighing, measuring , mixing, rolling and decorating them, giving the children a chance to develop numeracy and fine motor skills and being creative, also observing the changes to their biscuits when heated in the oven.
The children have enjoyed talking about their pets at home and guessing which pet various items related to. We made cat faces, giving us chance to talk about our pets and get creative.
Finally, the highlight of the week was the daily visit of our two new rabbit friends. The children had chance to hold and stroke them and were all gentle and quiet around them. Many thanks to Julie for kindly sharing her lovely rabbits with us.
