ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Parents/carers should not leave their children alone before opening time and should pick them up on time, unless having previously made other arrangements with the manager.
It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure that their child/children are handed over to a member of staff before they leave.
If a child is to be picked up at the close of the session by anyone other than the person who brought them, staff should be informed beforehand and sign the parent/carer permission book. A phone call from the parent/carer in an emergency is acceptable. A password must be given to the staff upon collection of the child.
In the event of nobody arriving to collect a child within 10 minutes of their expected time, the manager will phone the parents and their emergency contact number.
If this also fails, and nobody has arrived to collect the child within 20 minutes following the end of the session and none of the child's parents/carer/emergency numbers can be reached, the manager or deputy will contact the Early Years Team, as part of their duty of care to the child. This has never happened yet and would be in the most extreme case.
